Reviews:

In Their Footsteps - Jeanne 'Sam' Christie

"Sonya Kerr’s portrayal of Donut Dolly Jeanne “Sam” Christie is complex, with her buoyant and genial nature masking a deeply buried psychological hurt. Her role as a Donut Dolly was to chat with shell-shocked soldiers to coax them to open up, a role that was traumatising in itself and you have to wonder whether in later life she used that robust cheerfulness as a coping mechanism." - Stage Whispers

The Sweet Science of Bruising - Anna Lamb

"...Kerr’s heartbreaking narrative...gives the show its heart, the show can be sold on their performances alone." - Theatre Thoughts

August: Osage County - Ivy Weston

"The seemingly still single Ivy is presented with more of a resignation by Kerr as Ivy has been the only one of her siblings to remain in close contact with their parents, putting up with Violet's insults and verbal abuse but her simmering resentment and desire for freedom is presented with a wonderful display of confidence and courage along with hurt at the revelations that come out." - Broadway World

"Kerr gives her character a lightness and secret happiness in the early scenes that translates well into the climax of the play." - Sydney Arts Guide

The Winslow Boy - Catherine Winslow

"Sonya Kerr’s drawing of this character in such a solid straight line through a range of emotion, growth and realisation is rewarding to watch." - Sydney Arts Guide

"Sonya Kerr is strong as Catherine (Kate) Winslow. She has a commanding stage presence and establishes Kate as an intelligent woman of strong convictions who is also warm, compassionate and loyal. Kerr wears her Edwardian costumes with style and is totally at home in the character and the period..." - Stage Whispers

"Sonya Kerr is absolutely delightful as Catherine Winslow, and a pure joy to watch moving around the stage.....It’s a great performance, and a real joy watching Kerr bring this much-loved character to life." - Lisa Thatcher

Macbeth - Lady Macbeth

"Sonya Kerr’s was particularly impressive as Lady Macbeth, bringing an elegance to the role that made a lovely contrast to the final moments of her character. Even in madness, she evoked a fiery strength and beauty that stole the stage."
